Ph.D. admission notification @ INDIAN INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY KANPUR (December 2013)

Applications are invited for Indian citizens for admission to the Ph.d. programmes for the session commencing from December 2013.

Ph.D (ENGINEERING) : 

• M.Tech./ME./M.Sc.(Engg.) degree in the respective or allied area. 
• The candidates with Bachelor's degree in Engineering/ Technology or Master's degree in Sciences in an allied area with exceptional academic record and having a valid GATE score may also apply. 
• For Ph.D. in BSBE, candidate with MBBS, B.Pharma or M.Pharma Degree may also apply.
• Candidate with Master's degree in Management may apply for Ph.D. in Industrial and Management Engineering (IME).

Ph.D. (SCIENCES & HSS) :

• M.Sc./M.A. Degree in respective or allied area with a valid GATE/UGC/CSIR score. 

GENERAL INFORMATION :

• Financial aid (Assistantship/Scholarship) is available for Ph.D students. 
• Admission for Sponsored and Part time candidates is also open. 
• Sponsored / Part-time candidate are not required to qualify GATE. 
• Application form & Information brouchure can be downloaded or personally obtained from the Academic Section up to November 08, 2013 free of cost. 
• The hard copy of Application form & Information Brouchure will be made available from October 14, 2013. 
• Separate application must be filled for each programme. 
• Reservations (for SC/ST/OBC(NCL)/PD shall apply as per Government of India rules. The certificate for the same must be in the format specified. The formats can be downloaded from the links below :

• Information Brochure has academic information about all programs, as well as information on part-time, external and sponsored programs. It can be downloaded from this link. 
• The application fee is Rs. 400 for General and OBC candidates, and Rs. 200 for SC/ST candidates and all PD. candidates (including General and OBC). The fee must be paid through a demand draft payable to The Registrar, IIT Kanpur payable at Kanpur. 
• PhD applicants must submit two letters of reference as well. The Reference forms can be downloaded from this link.
